If you are a PeerStreet investor, then you have undoubtedly seen the emails from Jay Hartman, PeerStreet’s Head of Finance and Investments.

We thought you should know a bit more about him. Jay brings more than 20 years of real estate experience and a great reputation to PeerStreet. Just about everyone who has worked with him considers him to be one of the most ethical people they have ever met. His extensive industry knowledge plays an integral role on PeerStreet’s real estate team and serves him well on our investment committee. He reviews and selects the loans we put up for investment and communicates with investors about the portfolio. Marc Heenan, Head of Commercial Originations and Asset Management, and Dan Graham, Head of Partner Relations and Underwriting, also join him on the investment committee from the real estate team. Between the three of them, they have seen pretty much every type of real estate transaction you can think of and work hard to make sure PeerStreet users gain access to high-quality investment opportunities.

Before PeerStreet, Jay spent 16 years at Paladin Realty Partners, which is an institutional real estate investment fund manager founded by former U.S. Treasury Secretary William E. Simon. The firm has acquired or developed assets in the United States and Latin America with a total capitalization in excess of $5 billion. Jay was a Managing Director and served on the firm’s investment committee.

Jay is an avid runner and Manhattan Beach local. When he isn’t poring over loan documents, sending out investment announcements and onboarding investors, you may spot him running along the water near PeerStreet’s headquarters.
